WHAT IS JOJOBA OIL?

Jojoba oil is actually not really an oil, but a kind of liquid wax. This wax is extracted from the nut of the jojoba plant, which mainly grows in America. Jojoba has been used by Indian tribes since time immemorial. They used the nut paste to care for their skin and hair. Nowadays, jojoba is used in many care products, because people are still convinced of the wonderful effect of jojoba, especially for the skin.

WHAT MAKES JOJOBA OIL UNIQUE?

Jojoba oil is unique because - unlike most other vegetable oils - it closely resembles the sebum produced by our own skin glands. Jojoba oil therefore works as a natural skin conditioner and is therefore a good substitute for the animal fats that are often used in skin lotions and creams. Jojoba oil has a clear color and when the oil is processed, it is completely odorless. Jojoba oil can therefore also be mixed well with essential oils that have a scent of their own. In addition, the oil is absorbed very well into the skin and does not leave a greasy layer, so perfect!

WHAT CAN YOU USE JOJOBA OIL FOR?

First of all, it is worth mentioning that jojoba oil can be used as an excellent skin oil for every skin type. Whether you have dry, normal, oily or impure skin: this oil has a positive effect on every skin type. It hydrates, nourishes and protects your skin and cleanses it mildly. But jojoba oil is also very useful for your hair, scalp, lips, nails and hands. A dry scalp will bloom again and nails and hands will look well cared for again. And dry lips? Past!

WHAT DOES JOJOBA OIL DO FOR YOUR SKIN?

If you use jojoba oil for your dry skin, it will be deeply nourished and because the jojoba is waxy, the oil retains moisture in the skin. This ultimate hydration quickly makes dry skin feel supple and fresh again. The wax also forms an effective barrier against external influences, such as free radicals and changing weather conditions, and is therefore a perfect skin protector.

Oily skin is the result of overactive sebaceous glands in the skin. Oily skin attracts dirt more quickly to the face, making regular washing necessary. Oily skin not only looks less fresh, it can also be the starting point of skin problems. It sounds crazy to combat oily skin with an oil, but you will be amazed at how applying jojoba oil will make your face less oily. This is because jojoba down-regulates sebum production in oily skin.

Troubled skin is common among young people and is due to increased sebaceous gland activity during this age phase. Hair follicles can become blocked by the buildup of sebum, keratin and other cell debris. Jojoba oil works in various ways to prevent the formation of impurities. First, jojoba acts as a deep cleanser. Because it is a liquid, it can penetrate deep into the hair follicles and thus dissolve sebum and loosen dirt, thus removing the blockage. Jojoba also has a protective and calming effect, which benefits troubled skin.

JOJOBA OIL: HOW TO USE?

If you want to use jojoba oil for your skin, you can rub a few drops of the oil between your palms and apply it to your face or other part of your skin. If you want a deeper moisturizing effect, warm a spoonful of jojoba oil and then massage it into the skin. Of course, make sure that the oil is not too hot! This is especially wonderful before you go to sleep, so that the oil can do its work properly.

Jojoba oil is also an ideal massage oil. You can possibly mix it with another essential oil that is suitable for massages, such as lavender oil or arnica oil.

The same applies to your hands, nails and lips: gently massage the oil and repeat if necessary. Would you like to really pamper your hair and scalp? Then make a nice hair mask from jojoba oil and let it soak in for a while. You can also add a little jojoba oil to your shampoo for an extra nourishing effect.
